Sacre Bleu! More Merde!
I'm beginning to think Stormy was right.
College dropout Sean Hannity posted this today...
Sean Hannity
·Trump just renamed one of the Great Lakes "Lake America" and he is not done. In an Oval Office signing that turned into a full-on Canada takedown, the president says Ottawa treats the US "very badly," wants icebreakers it will not pay for, and cannot be trusted on trade.
This, of course, because he is apparently contractually required to applaud any childish nonsense that comes from the Oval Office. And I especially love how taking a Sharpie and making that indecipherable scrawl on a piece of paper is somehow a "total takedown" of our neighbors to the north.

I am reminded of a scene in the film "The Quiet Man" where Victor McLaglen is angry at John Wayne's character and asks his farm employee to write Wayne's name down in his "book." He then says...
"Draw a line through it! That for him!"
Yep, that'll show 'em.
The problem for Sean and all the other lickspittles is not just that these impotent little displays mean nothing. It's that they are accompanied by either deliberate or, even worse, ignorant lies. For example, here is the idiotic little signing ceremony.
I know, I wrote about this last week, but the lying on this and other issues is hitting critical mass.
For example, he can't even do this, even if it weren't so ridiculous. The U.S. Board on Geographic Names (BGN) is the official federal body responsible for standardizing and changing geographic place names in the United States. Notice, I said, within the United States. Here are the steps...
- Proposals: Any member of the public, or local, state, and tribal governments, can submit a formal name change request.
- Guidelines: The board does not name features after living people and reviews submissions based on established domestic naming policies.
- Local Input: The board coordinates closely with local and tribal communities, particularly when addressing sensitive or derogatory place names.
So, in a word, NO. Or if you are in Quebec, NON.
As far as the little signing today, there were even more lies. The President said we defend Canada for free. I addressed this last week. We and Canada belong to NORAD, the North American Aerospace Defense Command. Please forgive another list, but here is the Canadian contribution...
- Personnel: Roughly 1,000 Canadian Armed Forces members serve in NORAD missions.
- Headquarters: Canada hosts the Canadian NORAD Region (CANR) headquarters of the First Canadian Air Division in Winnipeg, Manitoba.
- Tactical Control: The Canadian Air Defence Sector in North Bay, Ontario, manages tactical control of assigned air defense forces.
Surveillance and Physical Resources
- North Warning System: Canada operates and maintains its half of this long- and short-range Arctic radar network stretching from Alaska to Labrador.
- Aircraft and Bases: Canada provides CF-18 Hornet fighter jets on continuous alert, supported by bases and Forward Operating Locations in places like Inuvik, Iqaluit, and Yellowknife.
Financial and Modernization Commitments
- Funding: Canada committed roughly $38.6 billion over 20 years to modernize NORAD and upgrade continental defense infrastructure, including new over-the-horizon Arctic radar systems and enhanced northern airfields
So, again the President is peddling bull-merde.
Trump said the US is ordering 11 icebreakers, the ships not the conversation starters. Since Denmark has unromantically spurned the presidential advances on Greenland, he has become obsessed with the Arctic. Nothing gets his attention more than a chance to cash in or someone saying NO.
Thus, the US, Canada and Finland agreed to something called the ICE Pact to combine industrial knowledge, workforce training, and shipbuilding capabilities to counter Chinese and Russian dominance in the sector.
The original agreement was that we three would combine to buy new icebreaking ships to keep the region clear. But Le Presidente was not having it.
Trump caused friction within the pact by asserting that while Canada and others wanted to buy or build ships collaboratively, the U.S. preferred to drive its own acquisitions independently rather than act as an equal co-buyer, even though U.S. cutter designs and supply chains still cross paths with Canadian and Finnish shipbuilders.
And of course, the ships were arranged through more no-bid contracts.
Our new icebreakers will be built in Finland because they are apparently the best at it. So, since a treaty is a sometime thing for the White House, Canada has ordered 6 new ships for $8 billion, and they will be built in, let me check, oh yes, Canada.

They already have a fleet of older ships that will be replaced. So, it seems that they don't want to use our ships, much less for free. So that would be another prevarication from the Dissembler in Chief.
Moving on from Canada, and we are seemingly doing that for no reason, there was a humorous solution to the Vietnam War that went around in the late 60's. Simply declare victory and leave. Well, since the President was stateside to hear the joke, we now have this...

With the Strait of Hormuz still closed, gas prices still rising, the two real estate guys failing to negotiate a deal, the military almost out of high-tech missiles, and sailors virtually eating shoe leather like Charlie Chaplin, it's time to declare "Mission Accomplished!"
Because, you know, that worked out so well for President Bush.

This week, the President and his former wrestling executive turned Education Secretary actually asserted with straight faces that kids are being convinced in public school to undergo sex change surgery without telling parents. As my colleague Mike Vance said on this week's episode of "Another Fine Mess"...
"You mean a mom drops off Billy in the morning and in the afternoon picks up Bertha? And never notices?"
And I thought school nurses only dealt in aspirin and band-aids.
Also this week, President Donald Trump's financial disclosures show his investment accounts bought between $250,000 and $500,000 in Boeing stock on June 18, 2026, on the same day the U.S. Navy awarded the company an $880 million contract.
We are assured that one has nothing to do with the other, and I'm sure Sean will applaud that as well.
Look, I know that sometimes a certain amount of secrecy is necessary in government. Churchill said during the war that, "The truth must often be accompanied by a bodyguard of lies."
But in the last year and a half, that bodyguard has become a full infantry regiment. And frankly, the lies are ever more simple-minded and manifest. And fair-minded people are left to wonder. Is he as dumb as he seems? Is he getting boneheaded advice, or is he just lying to us on purpose?
I'm beginning to think it's all three.
Then again, though, it could all be Biden's fault.
Now, he is part of the Texas Outlaw Writers, and if this doesn't pan out, the outlaw part will still work as he will indeed resort to robbing banks.
